Here’s the thing: I love shoes and bags as much as the next gal, but I have a special place in my heart for jewelry, especially jewelry I can buy online. I am actually obsessed with my small collection. However, I also am constantly on the hunt for something new and shiny to wear, and we’re sure your mom is, too. If you want to figure out what to get the leading lady in your life, grabbing something sparkly can never hurt.

This year, Mother’s Day falls on Sunday May 12, 2024, so there’s still plenty of time to buy jewelry online and have it delivered in time. But where to start? That’s why we’ve rounded up a few of the best places to buy jewelry online so everyone can satisfy their inner magpie. Apologies in advance to your credit card balance!

While I’m no true jewelry collector, I do keep a few, simple pieces in my collection that I wear every single day. On any given day, I’m wearing two simple gold chain necklaces (that won’t fade or tarnish) with a pair of small gold hoop earrings. While I don’t think I’ll ever grow tired of that necklace combo, I think I may need to update my usual rotation just a bit in 2024. Because the majority of my job is just browsing the web for the trendiest items ever, I feel that I have procured the best pieces from the best brands on the Internet—and now I’m sharing them with all of you.

I’m talking about everything from gorgeous lab-grown diamond pieces from Pandora, to luxe-feeling rings from Gldn. Oh—and a chain necklace from everyone’s go-to brand for gold pieces, Mejuri. Whatever your style, I can almost guarantee that you’ll find your new favorite bracelet, necklace or pair of earrings on this list.

How to Shop Jewelry Online, According to a Pro

We get that shopping for an investment piece online can be a bit intimidating, but Steven Singer, owner of Steven Singer Jewelers has a few tips.

Know the return and upgrade policy.

First, familiarize yourself with the return and upgrade policy.” Check out their return policy and upgrade policy. “You want a jeweler that is going to stand behind their merchandise, even if you are never going to return it. It says a lot about who you are buying from.”

Look for metal stamps.

“For precious metals, look out for the metal stamps,” he continues. “Pieces can be advertised as gold, but can vary in quality. The stamp on the jewelry should tell you the level of gold in the piece. 24k would denote that it is 100 percent gold, but this is not commonly used, because pure gold is not durable and is normally mixed with alloys for strength. 14k gold is standard for jewelry, but look out for 10k pieces as well, as it can be a more affordable option. There are gold-plated pieces, but they should be advertised and stamped as such.”
