~'Kasturi' and 'Nayi Pahal', Quality Control teams from Trombay Thermal Power Station
and Central Civil Division respectively emerged triumphant at the convention

In recognition of this commitment, Tata Power's Quality Control Teams from Trombay Thermal Power Station and Central Civil Division won the 'Gold' Award at the recently concluded International Convention of Quality Control Circles -2017, held in Manila, Philippines. The recognition was bestowed upon the 'Kasturi' and 'Nayi Pahal', Quality Control team from Trombay Thermal Power Station, and Central Civil Division respectively.

A total of 380 teams from 12 countries participated in the Convention, with representatives from Tata Power, Bharat Electronics, JSW Steel, Kirloskar Oil, Aditya Birla, Rashtriya Fertilizers, Mazagon Dock Ship, Reliance, NTPC, and Adani from India.

Applauding the efforts of the teams, Mr. Anil Jain, Chief- Trombay Station, said 'We are proud of our teams for the recognition that they have achieved at the International Convention for Quality Concepts. The recognition is testimony to our hard work and the standard of quality we maintain across all our operational areas. The feat achieved by the teams from Trombay Thermal Power Station and Central Civil Division will serve as an inspiration to all other teams to emulate the success. This achievement is certainly a significant mile stone in our journey of continual improvement and creating value for our customers.'

The team 'Kasturi' submitted the project titled, 'Robotic Painting for high rise structure', while the team from Central Civil & Construction submitted a project titled 'Innovative technique for weed control in High tension (HT) switchyard.' Both the projects were well demonstrated by the experienced teams on board and received appreciation and due recognition from the esteemed jury at the International Convention of Quality Control Circles.
