Defending champions Zambia set for Lesotho showdown

Defending COSAFA U-17 Cup champions Zambia meet Lesotho on Sunday as they look to bounce back from their underwhelming tournament opener against Mozambique.

Tenant Chilumba's side won the age-grade tournament in Mauritius last year after downing the hosts 3-0 in the final, however, their title defence began with a low-key showing on Thursday.

Zambia can, however, take some solace from the fact that their title-winning campaign in 2017 began with a 1-0 defeat by Mozambique, and they'll be expected to respond after that disappointing result on Sunday.

The Young Bullets were unable to break the deadlock against Mozambique in Port Louis, and will now be aiming to get their first win on the board when they meet Lesotho in Belle Vue Maurel on Sunday.

Lesotho will themselves be eyeing progression to the semi finals after they held a fancied South Africa side in their opener on Friday, proving that they're more than capable of frustrating some of the tournament's bigger sides.

The winners of the tournament will qualify for next year's U-17 African Cup of Nations in Tanzania.
