The European Union is ready to contribute to the strengthening of stability and peace in the South Caucasus region. The statement came from Toivo Klaar, the European Union (EU) Special Representative for the South Caucasus and the Crisis in Georgia, during his meeting with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, Azerbaijani media reported.
According to the respective statement, the sides discussed the prospects of developing cooperation between Azerbaijan and the EU, and stressed that Azerbaijan is a reliable partner of the EU.
The meeting stressed also the EU's readiness to contribute to the strengthening of stability and peace and building a climate of trust in the region.
