DES MOINES, Iowa - Sophomore Charles Cruse broke a three-year school record, and the shuttle hurdles relay squad set the school record en route to a win, as the Redbirds concluded the weekend at the prestigious Drake Relays with notable top-10 marks and times with two new school records.

On the men's side Charles Cruse collected the white flag as he broke the school record by clearing a mark of 5.27m (17-3.5) in the pole vault, and he currently sits in second in the Missouri Valley Conference with his mark today. In the hammer throw, senior Amiri Buchanan took 21st with a mark of 56.30m (184-8). The distance medley squad finished fourth by crossing the finish line in 9:50.69 as the 4x400m relay squad took third with a time of 3:08.10, the fourth best time in program history. Sophomore Dewyane Johnson finished fifth in the 110m hurdles with a personal-best time of 13.87 seconds, which is also the fourth best in school history.
On the women's side the shuttle hurdles relay squad collected the white flags with a time of 55.72 seconds. The 4x100m relay squad finished fourth in a time of 45.21 seconds, while the distance medley relay squad crossed the finish line in a time of 11.47.98 as they finished 11th. Senior Morgan Wrublik finished 14th in the hammer throw with a toss of 53.56m (175-9), while junior Olivia Birge took 11th in the javelin with a mark of 36.86m (120-11).
