“By Pharmacists For Pharmacies”.. Kuwait's 1st Pharmaceutical Advancement Conference Starts
The Kuwait Pharmaceutical Association (KUPHA) launched the first Kuwait Pharmaceutical Advancement Exhibition and Conference (KPAC) on Sunday, spotlighting the evolving role of pharmacy practice in Kuwait. With a focus on professional development, patient care, and career opportunities, KPAC aimed to unite pharmacists from all sectors under one platform.
Dr. Ahmad Taqi, Chairman of KPAC, emphasized the conference's unique inclusivity, encompassing various pharmacy sectors. Co-chairwoman Dr. Farah Al-Enezi highlighted KPAC's ambition to establish itself as a leading global scientific conference, fostering networking and knowledge exchange among pharmacists worldwide.
Ph. Dana Al-Aynati, pharmacist at the Kuwaiti Ministry of Health and KPAC organizer, underscored the conference's pharmacist-driven ethos, with organizers and contributors all hailing from the pharmacy profession.
Discussions at KPAC centered on innovative developments in pharmacy practice, covering topics from pharmacy education to clinical guidelines. Renowned pharmacists and researchers led lectures, addressing diverse challenges and strategies in clinical pharmacy, toxicology, drug supervision, and manufacturing.
The conference featured local and global speakers, facilitating workshops, exhibitions, and educational programs. Dr. Maryam Al-Owayesh from Kuwait University explored the economic dimensions of illnesses through Pharmacoeconomics, while Dr. Rashed Khazal highlighted Kuwait's promising future in drug manufacturing.
Dr. Reem Al-Essa from the Kuwait Ministry of Health delved into pharmacy inspection processes and Pharmacovigilance, ensuring stringent standards in the region. Workshops offered practical insights into pharmacy care scenarios, warfarin dosing, poison control, and more, catering to diverse interests and specialties.
KPAC drew participation from Kuwait University faculty, local hospitals, visiting and local pharmacists, KUPHA members, pharmacy students, and associations, fostering collaboration and learning over the two-day event.
