Following back-to-back road victories in league play, Vermont Green FC returned to Burlington ready to renew a rivalry for sweet supremacy. The Green hosted FC Laval in the second edition of the Maple Cup, which was again hoisted by the home side.
Tyler Trimnal tallied a pair of assists in Vermont's 4-2 victory against Laval. The Green remain perfect on the season, and get off to a hot start to its homestand.
Former University of New Hampshire forward Ibrahim Conde put Laval on the board first in the 21st minute, before Lucas Costabile responded to tie the game 13 minutes later.
Vermont was buoyed by a strong second half that saw a score in the opening minute of the half, as well as a third goal in as many games from Stephane Njike.
Up next, the Green host Providence City FC in a friendly on Tuesday before hopping back into league play to battle Seacoast United at home on Saturday.
